5 reasons to come to the Best of Kendal Film night at the RGS

It hardly needs saying, but the Best of the Kendal Mountain Film Festival (BoK) at the Royal Geographical Society is a cracking night for anyone who loves the mountains, adventure or film in general. I won’t bore you with a treatise on its merits, but just in case you’re 50/50 on whether to come along, here are the five reasons why it’s a real no-brainer:

  1. Normally I’d always encourage you to head outdoors. But…British weather! The post-work BBQ in the garden, or the pint in the local beer garden, isn’t quite with us yet. Better play it safe. Come in to watch some amazing films with us.

  1. After all – the Kendal Mountain Film Festival is a shining light in British outdoor culture. Better still, we’re serving it on a plate for you down here in London. Our hand-picked selection gives you a fantastic flavour of the breadth of the festival’s contributions.

  1. And what a breadth of contributions the Festival enjoys. Don’t forget that BoK is not just about the mountains. The ethos of the Festival is to let people experience culture, drama, wildlife and environmental documentaries – so this really is a holistic outdoor film experience.

  1. Most importantly, all proceeds from the event will go directly to supporting PPUK’s projects. Remember we’re an entirely voluntary charity so your entry ticket purchases and raffle contributions are critical in allowing us to fund education, healthcare and community projects in Nepal and other mountainous regions.

  1. The RGS… I mean, where better to be on a Thursday night? It’s not every day of the year you can graze on a beer while gazing at a 400 year old map and a 3D model of Everest.

So please, grab a ticket through our Event Brite page, and come get involved for the most inspiring night you’ll have this Spring.
